Smart English Language Lab for ASL Training and Test

Excellent communication skill is the objective of any language learning. To help the learners achieve the desired level of expertise in language and communicative skills, CBSE conducts assessments for listening and speaking (ASL) for secondary classes. According to educators, the test will motivate the learners to improve upon these language skills and help the teachers in assisting them to improve the skills of students.

CBSE through its different mode of assessments ensures that the learners achieve high level of proficiency in their aptitude and communicative skills in language. Proficiency in English language, the most sought after language across the globe has become very important. In fact, success of a person at the global level depends a lot on the expertise in the communicative ability of this international language. Considering this, the board has decided to conduct assessment of speaking and listening skills in CBSE affiliated schools to enhance the communicative ability of students.

With the emergence of digital language lab, schools use this excellent teaching arid to conduct ASL with the effective evaluation of the four essential skills Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Imparting the two skills reading and writing are not seen as too much challenging by boards and schools; since it is not easy to teach listening and speaking in a formal setup, most schools now decide on language lab software to assure progression in language learning and acquisition in a natural environment.

The testing format as recommended by CBSE for the ASL test has been deployed in the Smart English Language Lab to train the learners facilitating preparation for the test. The software is provided with a collection of vocabulary or expressions and comprehensions that is relevant to their course and test. The materials incorporated in the lab instil confidence needed to speak and express themselves without any inhibition.
